Lorik Fund brings arts education to 31 Armenian villages

The Lorik Humanitarian Fund's Artsakh Tsil Arts Studio completed a month-long summer tour through rural Armenia, visiting 31 villages in the Vardenis, Areni and Vayots Dzor regions. The mobile program offered free puppet shows, traditional dance and music instruction, and hands-on classes in khachkar carving, weaving and embroidery to children with limited access to cultural activities.

The initiative was supported partly by a fundraiser organized by Peggy Ishkhanian in Southern California, where participants at a sourdough workshop raised $4,000 for the program. Artsakh Tsil operates year-round in Gyumri as a free arts studio serving both local children and families displaced from Artsakh, fully funded by Lorik Humanitarian Fund since 2024.
