Do you have forgotten money?
California holds more than $15 billion in unclaimed money — forgotten bank accounts, uncashed paychecks and refunds, utility deposits, insurance, stocks. Check free in 2 minutes.
Check now on claimit.ca.govOpens the State of California's official site in a new tab. Free to search, free to claim.
How to check — 3 simple steps
- 1Search your last name. Try it with and without your first name, and every old address you have lived at in California.
- 2Search for Mom, Dad, grandparents and any relative who passed away — families can often claim for them too.
- 3Found something? Press File claim on the state's site and follow its steps. It is free.
⚠️ Watch out for scams
- Searching and claiming is FREE. Never pay anyone to search for you.
- The government never asks for a fee up front to send you your money.
- Never give your Social Security number by phone, text or email to someone who contacted you first. Only enter it on the official claim form you opened yourself.
- Armenian Listing is not a government office. We don't search, we don't collect your information, and we never charge — we only show you the official sites.

Older relatives are the most likely to have forgotten accounts, deposits or pensions. Sit with them for 5 minutes and search together. For more help with Medi-Cal, IHSS, SSI and Section 8, see our free Seniors Help page.

Is it really free?
Yes. Searching and filing a claim on claimit.ca.gov is free. You never need to pay anyone to do it for you.
What kind of money is it?
Money a business could not deliver to you: closed bank accounts, uncashed paychecks or refund checks, utility and rent deposits, insurance payouts, stocks and safe-deposit box contents. By law it is sent to the State, which holds it for the owner.
Can I claim for a parent who passed away?
Often, yes — heirs can file a claim. The state's site explains what papers it needs for your case.
Does Armenian Listing find the money or take a cut?
No. We are not a government office and we never search, collect information or charge anything. We only point you to the official free sites.
I lived in another state before California.
