ANCA, Congress members oppose $700M Turkey jet engine sale
ANCA joins Hellenic allies to block $700 million Turkey jet engine sale

The Armenian National Committee of America joined Greek-American allies and bipartisan U.S. House members in opposing a proposed $700 million sale of General Electric F-110 jet engines to Turkey. The Trump administration notified Congress of the sale on June 24, 2026, triggering a 15-day congressional review window.
Representatives Dina Titus (D-NV), Gregory Meeks (D-NY), and others introduced a Joint Resolution of Disapproval to block the sale. They cited a federal law barring F-35 transfers to Turkey while it retains the Russian-made S-400 air defense system, which Turkey purchased in 2019 and has not disposed of.
Opposition crossed party lines, with Republican members Nicole Malliotakis and Mike Lawler also expressing concern. ANCA urged Armenian Americans to contact representatives through anca.org/noengines.
