A woman shot by an Azerbaijani serviceman who illegally crossed into Armenia's Syunik Province has undergone surgery and is in stable condition, according to the Armenian Health Ministry.

Spokesperson Mariam Tsatryan said the patient is under medical supervision with no life-threatening injuries or post-operative complications reported. The Azerbaijani serviceman, Nasimi Rahim Oglu Musayev, was arrested and faces charges including causing serious bodily harm with a firearm, illegal border crossing, firearms trafficking and smuggling, and violating the inviolability of a dwelling. He is being held for two months pending trial.
