Trump Establishes 'Super Intelligence Force' to Lead AI Policy
Trump unveils βSuper Intelligence Forceβ to oversee AI policy
President Donald Trump has created a new federal taskforce dedicated to artificial intelligence policy, to be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton. The "Super Intelligence Force" aims to ensure continued U.S. leadership in AI development and will coordinate government engagement with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, infrastructure providers, and technology companies.
The announcement follows Trump's September 29 executive order renaming artificial intelligence as "Super Intelligence," which the president said removes the word "artificial" because it sounds "fake." Trump also indicated plans to establish a separate board to oversee AI safety, following a "morally binding" pact signed by major technology executives.
