Marguerite Sarkisian Bargamian, Waltham Educator, Remembered

Marguerite "Peggy" Sarkisian Bargamian, a longtime Waltham resident and educator, passed away on August 6, 2026, at an advanced age. A native of North Providence, Rhode Island, Bargamian earned a master's degree in education from Harvard University and spent her career as a teacher and guidance counselor across Rhode Island, Indiana, and Massachusetts. She worked 15 years with Waltham Public Schools, where she formed lasting professional relationships. A lifelong member of the Armenian Youth Federation and Armenian Relief Society, Bargamian remained deeply connected to her Armenian heritage throughout her life. She met her late husband, Levon "Leo" Sarkisian, through the Youth Federation. Bargamian is survived by two sons, Christopher and David, and extended family. Funeral services were held August 13 at St. Stephen's Armenian Church in Watertown.
