Late Scholar's Book on ARF and Ottoman Constitutionalism Published

Bloomsbury Press has published "The Armenian Revolutionary Federation and Constitutionalism in the Ottoman Empire, 1895-1908," a posthumous work by scholar Garabet K. Moumdjian. The book, part of the "Armenians in the Modern and Early Modern World" series, examines the complex relationship between Armenian revolutionaries and the Young Turks during the late Ottoman period.

Drawing on archival documents from Armenian, Ottoman, and British sources, Moumdjian explores how the Armenian Revolutionary Federation navigated collaboration with Young Turk cadres while advocating for constitutional reform and improved conditions for Ottoman Armenians. The work traces how this strategic alliance gradually deteriorated, ultimately leading to the Armenian Genocide.

Moumdjian died in March 2023 before completing the project. With support from his wife, Nayeri, scholars Mehmet Polatel and Tamar Boyadjian revised and edited the manuscript for publication. The book is dedicated to Moumdjian's family.
