Iranian Cinematographer to Judge Golden Apricot Film Festival
Mahmoud Kalari to chair Golden Apricot Regional Competition jury
Mahmoud Kalari, a renowned Iranian cinematographer, will chair the Regional Competition jury at the 23rd Golden Apricot International Film Festival, taking place in Yerevan from July 12-19, 2026.
Kalari has worked on more than 60 feature films since the 1980s and is widely regarded as one of contemporary Iranian cinema's leading cinematographers. His credits include cinematography for acclaimed films such as Asghar Farhadi's A Separation, Jafar Panahi's Offside, and Abbas Kiarostami's The Wind Will Carry Us. His photography has been exhibited internationally.
The festival will feature competitive and non-competitive programs showcasing international films, including selections from Cannes and Berlin. Golden Apricot will bring together filmmakers, directors, actors, and industry professionals for cultural exchange with Armenian audiences.
