Bared Maronian previews “Genocide 2.0,” a documentary on the Artsakh War and ethnic cleansing
Filmmaker Bared Maronian hosted a screening of his documentary "Genocide 2.0" on June 10 in Newton, Massachusetts, drawing approximately 100 Armenian and non-Armenian attendees. The film examines the 2020 Artsakh War, the subsequent Azerbaijani blockade, and the 2023 ethnic cleansing of Artsakh's population. Maronian, an award-winning documentarian based in Florida, described the project as completing a trilogy on the Armenian Genocide. The seven-minute version was nominated for a Suncoast Regional Emmy Award in 2024. The film incorporates footage from the production's own crew, photojournalists, and historical material, with original music by C-Rouge. Maronian stated the screening aimed to evaluate audience response and gather feedback on emotional and technical elements before the film's wider release.
