Congressional Caucus Marks 1,000 Days of Armenian Detention
Sherman/McClintock to lead bipartisan Capitol Hill press conference marking 1,000th day of Azerbaijani detention of Armenian hostages
Congressional Armenian Caucus members led by Vice-Chair Brad Sherman (D-CA) and Representative Tom McClintock (R-CA) will hold a bipartisan press conference Tuesday to mark the 1,000th day of Azerbaijani detention of Artsakh leaders, Armenian prisoners of war, and civilian hostages.
The event coincides with House Foreign Affairs Committee action on the Sherman Amendment to the House Foreign Service Act, which calls for Azerbaijan's immediate and unconditional release of all Armenian prisoners of war and political prisoners.
Seven pro-Armenian amendments to the FY2027 National Defense Authorization Act and National Security and Foreign Operations Appropriations Act, co-sponsored by Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chairs Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), are under review by the House Rules Committee.
