AWWA Awards $150,000 in Elder Care Grants Internationally
AWWA announces 2026 International Armenian Elder Care Grant Program recipients
The Armenian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) has announced recipients of its 2026 International Armenian Elder Care Grant Program, distributing up to $150,000 to organizations serving Armenian adults aged 65 and older outside the United States.
Four organizations received funding for initiatives addressing healthcare access, dementia support, telemedicine services and nutrition assistance. Recipients include Alzheimer's Care Armenia, which will expand its Memory & Support Café network in Armenia; Hanganak Charity NGO, serving 240 displaced elders; VIVA Charitable NGO, expanding telemedicine to rural Tavush region; and the Armenian Sanatorium of Azounieh in Lebanon, upgrading kitchen facilities.
The grants respond to documented need: a screening initiative found approximately 31 percent of over 4,300 participants showed signs of cognitive impairment, while thousands of elders displaced following the 2023 Artsakh crisis require ongoing support.
