Armenian students win two bronze medals at International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence

Armenian school students earned two bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence held in Astana, Kazakhstan, August 2-8.
Armen fielded two teams—the maximum allowed—with eight students total. The Vanadzor team of Alen Gevorgyan, Aram Amirkhanyan, Seryozha Nazaryan and Vahe Pluzian finished fifth in team competition among 120 countries. In individual events, Aram Amirkhanyan and Razmik Yepremyan won bronze medals, while three other Armenian students received honorable mentions.
The competition featured three stages: a take-home round, a two-part team competition with simulation challenges and robot challenges, and an individual contest. Six of the eight national team members participate in the AI Generation program, a joint initiative by Armenia's Ministry of Education and the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology, offering three years of AI education to high school students. This marks Armenia's second consecutive participation in the Olympiad.
