Armenian graduates navigate AI and career challenges
2026 graduates are ready to take on a changing world

Four Armenian-American college graduates shared insights on navigating the changing job market, technological disruption and their educational experiences. The 2026 cohort includes Lena Kalandjian from Vanderbilt University, Alex Mirzabeigi from Berklee College of Music, Inesa Sargsyan from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and Ruby Topalian from Columbia University.
The graduates offered varied perspectives on artificial intelligence in their fields. While some students avoided AI tools to preserve core skills, others integrated them into coursework. All expect AI to feature prominently in their careers. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, 35% of entry-level jobs now require AI competency. The graduates emphasized the importance of understanding AI's implications—from governance and accountability concerns to industry-specific impacts in music and journalism.
