Armenia to Host Gaza Children for Medical Treatment
Armenia to provide medical care to children from Gaza with serious health conditions
Armenia's government approved a decision to facilitate the transfer of children from Gaza with serious health conditions to receive medical care at Armenian healthcare facilities. The government allocated 16.7 million AMD ($43,000) from its reserve fund to the Ministry of Health for the initiative.
Working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Health Organization, Armenia identified up to 10 children as candidates for treatment. After preliminary health assessments, seven of 11 patients under consideration were deemed suitable for Armenian medical care. Three families ultimately agreed to participate, with each child permitted one accompanying family member.
The program reflects Armenia's humanitarian response to the ongoing Gaza health crisis, leveraging its medical infrastructure to assist children requiring specialized treatment unavailable in the conflict-affected region.
