Armenia Approves Five-Year Development Program Through 2031
Armenia’s Government approves 2026–2031 Program, sets out key development targets
Armenia's government has approved its 2026–2031 development program, which will be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration. The program outlines priorities including peace consolidation with Azerbaijan, economic growth, infrastructure development, and human capital investment.
Key targets include 6% average annual economic growth, creation of 125,000 jobs, and doubling export volumes. The government plans to increase industrial and agricultural output by 50% each, with grain production targeted to double.
Education and infrastructure are major focuses. The program includes constructing or renovating 300 schools, 30 colleges, and 100 kindergartens, along with 2,500 kilometers of road improvements. In energy, Armenia aims to commission 1,000 megawatts of photovoltaic capacity and explore nuclear power expansion.
The program also targets visa liberalization with the European Union, deepened regional partnerships, and development of artificial intelligence and space capabilities.
