Armenia to export up to 40 tons of fresh produce weekly to UAE

Armenia has signed a memorandum of understanding with UAE-based Watermelon Ecosystem to begin exporting fresh fruits and vegetables to the United Arab Emirates, with shipments expected to reach up to 40 tons per week beginning next month.

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Omar Mohammad Hamdan Abdulla Alshamsi, founder and CEO of Watermelon Ecosystem, to discuss the partnership. Watermelon Ecosystem operates a digital platform connecting restaurants, food suppliers, producers, and farmers with supply-chain management solutions.

During discussions, Papoyan highlighted recent investments in Armenia's agricultural sector and production capacities meeting international standards. The minister emphasized the importance of expanding market access for small and medium-sized Armenian producers. The agreement aims to facilitate long-term, stable exports while establishing connections between Armenian producers and UAE and international buyers.
