Armenia's UNESCO Commission Advances World Heritage Nominations
Armenia Eyes New World Heritage Bids as National UNESCO Commission Meets in Yerevan

Armenia's National Commission for UNESCO held a regular session at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Yerevan to advance the country's cultural diplomacy and heritage initiatives.
The meeting focused on expanding Armenia's global education programs and environmental preservation efforts. The commission is actively pursuing new World Heritage site designations, a process that requires national coordination and international advocacy.
UNESCO World Heritage status brings global recognition and support for cultural and natural sites of outstanding universal value. Armenia currently has three World Heritage sites: Geghard Monastery, Echmiadzin Cathedral, and Haghpat Monastery.
The session reflects Armenia's broader strategy to leverage cultural assets for international engagement and sustainable development goals.
