Armenia and UAE Agree to Mutually Recognize Driver's Licenses
Armenian, UAE driver’s licenses now mutually recognized
Armenia and the United Arab Emirates have established mutual recognition of driver's licenses, effective June 13, allowing citizens of each country to drive legally using their national licenses without restrictions.
Under the agreement signed September 30 by Armenia's Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan and UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, those seeking to exchange their licenses are exempted from theoretical and practical driving examinations normally required. The arrangement simplifies procedures for both temporary visitors and residents.
Armenia's Ministry of Internal Affairs characterized the initiative as reflecting expanding bilateral cooperation and providing practical benefits for citizens of both countries. Driver's licenses from either nation are now recognized without additional validation procedures.
