ANCA urges Senate to restrict aid to Azerbaijan
ANCA testifies for restricting U.S. aid to Azerbaijan, demands hostage release

The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) submitted testimony to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee requesting restrictions on U.S. military aid to Azerbaijan and calling for the release of over 1,000 Armenian hostages in Azerbaijani custody.
ANCA Government Affairs Director Tereza Yerimyan requested at least $100 million in humanitarian assistance for Armenians displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and $50 million for Armenia's security needs. She urged the Senate to condition U.S. aid on Azerbaijan's release of detainees, withdrawal from occupied Armenian territory, protection of Armenian cultural property, and recognition of displaced Armenians' right to return.
Yerimyan also called for Congress to rescind the President's authority to waive Section 907, which prohibits military assistance to Azerbaijan absent certification of compliance with human rights standards.
