ANCA Marks 40 Years of Leo Sarkisian Internship Program
ANCA marks 40th anniversary of Leo Sarkisian Internship

The Armenian National Committee of America is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Leo Sarkisian Internship Program this summer with its most geographically diverse cohort to date. Twelve interns from eight states are completing an intensive summer program in Washington, D.C., focused on congressional advocacy and policy engagement.
The interns have met with members of Congress to advocate for the release of Armenian hostages held by Azerbaijan and to oppose a proposed $700 million sale of GE F110 jet engines to Turkey. They are also building support for legislation opposing Turkey's potential reintegration into the F-35 fighter jet program.
Established in 1986 and named after longtime ANCA grassroots leader Leo Sarkisian, the program has helped launch careers for hundreds of alumni now working in government, law, media, and public policy. The ANCA also operates related youth development programs including fellowships, academies, and career initiatives.
