Analysis of Pashinyan's Contradictory Statements on Artsakh Loss
The Pashinyan paradox

An opinion piece from The Armenian Weekly examines what it describes as logical inconsistencies in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's public statements regarding Armenia's loss of Artsakh. The article uses a philosophical framework to analyze four premises of Pashinyan's positions: that he fought to retain Artsakh, that Artsakh's population did not, that Russia bears responsibility for the loss, and that losing Artsakh has strengthened Armenian sovereignty. The author argues these premises contradict the conclusion that Pashinyan saved Armenia, since the logic would suggest Russia—not Pashinyan—benefited Armenia by facilitating the loss. The piece critiques what it characterizes as Pashinyan simultaneously denying responsibility while claiming credit for positive outcomes allegedly resulting from the loss.
