Young Armenian Artist Mery Matevosyan Debuts Solo Exhibition

Yerevan-based artist Mery Matevosyan held her debut solo exhibition at the Pyunik Development Center from April 3 to 10, displaying more than 40 minimalist graphic works. A 2022 graduate of Panos Terlemezyan State College of Fine Arts, Matevosyan works primarily with pencil and line drawing despite her formal training in painting. She describes her artistic process as emotionally driven rather than conceptually predetermined, often allowing ideas to accumulate before creating multiple works at once. Her exhibition featured several series, including "Motherhood," which Matevosyan explained represents a desire to return to the feeling of absolute security. Working from her home studio, the young artist emphasizes sincerity and emotional honesty as central to her work, viewing the clean line as the most authentic relationship with drawing.
