Witkoff highlights strategic impact of TRIPP route in South Caucasus
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff highlighted the economic potential of a proposed infrastructure corridor spanning southern Armenia during a panel discussion on regional peace. The TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) initiative includes a 42.5-kilometer transit route designed to connect Central Asia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Europe into a unified economic axis.
Witkoff stated the completed corridor could reduce international cargo transit times by 2.5 to 3 weeks and integrate digital networks, energy infrastructure, and logistics hubs. He cited a recent White House meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as pivotal to enabling the initiative, framing the project as an economic foundation for long-term regional stability.
