Trump administration signals imminent Iran peace deal
Trump may release US-Iran deal before Friday, Vance says
Vice President JD Vance said the Trump administration may release a preliminary deal to end the U.S.-Iran conflict before Friday, according to reporting by the BBC and Public Radio of Armenia.
Vance described the memorandum of understanding as roughly one-and-a-half pages long and "very general" in scope. Senior U.S. officials have begun sharing details about the agreement, indicating the Strait of Hormuz would reopen on Friday, the same day the deal is formally signed in Geneva.
The development comes as President Trump attends the G7 summit in France, which will host a special session on Iran Tuesday featuring leaders from Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
