Russian drone strikes Ukrainian security headquarters in Kyiv
Russia hits Ukrainian security headquarters in drone attack, Zelensky says
A Russian drone struck the headquarters of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) in central Kyiv on Friday, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The unmanned aerial vehicle targeted a room belonging to security chief Oleksandr Poklad, though it remained unclear whether Poklad was present at the time. Zelensky said he subsequently spoke with Poklad to order an "appropriate, tangible response" to the attack. The Ukrainian president confirmed that emergency services responded to the scene and stated that affected individuals would receive necessary assistance. The strike represents the latest in ongoing Russian drone operations against Ukrainian infrastructure and government facilities since the invasion began in February 2022.
