Rubio Highlights Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Deal and Economic Corridor

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised the conclusion of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict during testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on the State Department's Fiscal Year 2027 budget request.

Rubio highlighted a newly established corridor called the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), which he said he signed a memorandum of understanding for the previous day. According to the Secretary of State, the initiative is designed to create economic opportunities for both Armenia and Azerbaijan while respecting each nation's sovereignty.

"The TRIPP Route will provide extraordinary opportunities for both countries, especially for Armenia, while respecting their sovereignty," Rubio stated. The corridor is framed as a mechanism to foster regional stability and economic development in the South Caucasus.
