Rubio highlights expanded US-Armenia partnership, backs Armeniaβs vision for regional peace
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Yerevan to reaffirm the Trump administration's commitment to deepening ties with Armenia, emphasizing cooperation as a key priority for regional peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus.
Rubio and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan initiated a bilateral agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), which Rubio called "the biggest step to date" in advancing the initiative. The officials also renewed the Strategic Partnership Charter and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on critical minerals, aimed at ensuring reliable access to strategic resources for both countries.
Rubio highlighted the significance of the August 8 Washington summit hosted by President Trump in solidifying regional peace efforts. He emphasized that durable partnerships are built on shared interests and mutual benefit, noting the administration's focus on creating economic opportunities for both Armenians and Americans.
