Providence Homenetmen scouts aid Armenian orphans after jamboree

Eleven Homenetmen scouts from Providence participated in the 13th Pan-Homenetmen Scouting Jamboree in Byurakan, Armenia, which drew 900 scouts from 23 countries. Following the July 24-August 2 event, the Providence delegation visited St. Nerses the Great Charitable Organization in Yerevan on August 5, where they distributed backpacks and $300 to each of 20 orphans who lost both parents in the Artsakh conflict. Scout leaders and parents met with organization executives and the children, who discussed their education and future aspirations. The visit was coordinated through the Eastern Prelacy and built on fundraising efforts from a previous Thanksgiving dinner. The scouts' charitable work exemplified their commitment to community service and humanitarian aid.
