Pediatrician Zara Janibekyan Pursues Art After Medicine Career
Zara Janibekyan’s path from medicine to canvas

Zara Janibekyan, a pediatrician and public health specialist, has pursued painting alongside her medical career, drawing on advice from her mother to first establish financial stability through medicine. Born during the Soviet era in Armenia, Janibekyan studied at Yerevan State Medical University and later earned a degree from the American University of Armenia's Public Health Program. She began formal art training once her children grew older, believing that painting can be learned through hard work and consistency. Her first solo exhibition was dedicated to her mother's memory. Janibekyan has combined both professions meaningfully, helping establish a children's rehabilitation center in Sevan that uses art therapy. She is the daughter of acclaimed actor Karen Janibekyan and granddaughter of theater legend Gurgen Janibekyan.
