Pashinyan: Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Is Established Reality
Armenia and Azerbaijan have achieved peace, which must be preserved every day β Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has become a permanent reality and must be preserved daily, speaking at a Commonwealth of Independent States meeting in Turkmenistan on October 9.
Pashinyan cited concrete developments: over two years without combat casualties, Azerbaijani railway access for Armenian cargo for nearly a year, bilateral trade resumption, and delimitation of a 12-kilometer border section. He highlighted the TRIPP project, which aims to restore regional transportation links connecting Armenia, Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, and neighboring countries through rail and road infrastructure.
The prime minister emphasized the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991 as foundational to the peace process. He noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan signed and ratified border delimitation regulations in 2024 based on these principles. An agreement on peace and interstate relations was initialed August 8, 2025, during a White House summit hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Pashinyan acknowledged that humanitarian issues between the nations remain unresolved.
