PACE report says Armenia’s newly elected authorities received clear mandate – Konjoryan
A Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) report on Armenia's June 7 parliamentary elections concluded that the country's newly elected authorities received a clear mandate from voters, according to Civil Contract faction leader Hayk Konjoryan.
The report, published September 28, assessed the elections as diverse and well-organized, with voting conducted in an orderly atmosphere at most observed polling stations. Observers noted strong representation of women among poll commission members.
The PACE assessment also documented significant external pressures on the electoral process, including trade restrictions, security threats, and foreign information operations described as reaching "unprecedented and worrying" scale. Despite these challenges and identified shortcomings, the report concluded that Armenian voters demonstrated democratic resilience.
