Opposition Armenia Alliance Requests Vote Recounts After Elections
Armenia Alliance seeks recount in several polling stations following parliamentary elections

Armenia's opposition Armenia Alliance has filed complaints requesting vote recounts in approximately two dozen polling stations following the country's June 7 parliamentary elections. Opposition lawmaker Ishkhan Saghatelyan said the requests stem from discrepancies between results recorded at polling stations and data published by the Central Electoral Commission. Recounts are expected to be completed by week's end across multiple locations nationwide.
According to preliminary results, three parties secured parliamentary seats: the ruling Civil Contract party with 49.825% of votes, Strong Armenia Alliance with 23.281%, and Armenia Alliance with 9.934%. The Prosperous Armenia Party received 3.996%—narrowly missing the 4% threshold required for representation—and has also announced recount requests. Multiple opposition forces have submitted similar complaints following the election.
