Israel rejects Trumpโs 15-point plan for Gaza, Netanyahu says
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a U.S.-backed 15-point peace proposal for Gaza, stating that Israel will not withdraw its military forces until Hamas is "genuinely" disarmed. Trump's Board of Peace announced the plan last month, which called for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in the territory. Hamas has countered that weapons handover is contingent on Israel ending "all forms of aggression" and withdrawing from Gaza. A senior Board of Peace official reiterated Sunday that the U.S.-backed plan remains the only viable path forward. Netanyahu declared at a Sunday cabinet meeting that "Israel rejects the 15-point document" and that the Israeli military will continue operations and "thwart threats against our forces and our citizens." Israel has maintained military operations in Gaza since agreeing to an initial ceasefire last October.
