Massachusetts Resident Pursues Vision for Metalworking Museum
Founding the Museum

An Armenian-American in Massachusetts is working toward establishing the Megerdichian Museum, dedicated to preserving metalworking art. The founder, now in his senior years, earned a Master of Science in nonprofit management in 2022 with a thesis on the future of museums. He has spent 13 years promoting his father's metalworking and miniature sculptures, exhibiting them at nearly 50 venues across the United States to an estimated 30,000 visitors. The museum concept has expanded to include the founder's watercolor-collage paintings inspired by his father's work. While acknowledging significant obstacles including funding and timing, he continues developing the project and is seeking community input. He notes that a Massachusetts-based Armenian-themed museum would fill a gap in regional cultural institutions.
