Iran’s Ambassador: Managing Risks Related to TRIPP should be on Armenia-Iran agenda
Iran's Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgolami, has called for managing risks related to the TRIPP project to be included in bilateral discussions between Yerevan and Tehran. The ambassador expressed concern about potential U.S. military presence near Iran's borders, referencing recent American strikes on Iranian facilities. He stated that Iran has received assurances from the Armenian government that the project will not pose threats to Iranian security. Shirgolami called for establishing mechanisms to allow Armenia to pursue regional cooperation initiatives while addressing all parties' concerns. The ambassador also praised historical Armenia-Iran relations, noting the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's respect for Armenia and the Armenian community in Iran, including families who lost members during the Iran-Iraq War.
