International Observatory to assess Armenia's democratic developments
IODA to host press conference on Armenia’s democratic trajectory

The International Observatory for Democracy in Armenia will host an online press conference on August 25, 2026, to present findings on Armenia's institutional and political developments following June parliamentary elections.
The event will feature international legal experts and human rights professionals, including IODA Executive Board members Kenneth Roth, Jose Maria Aranaz, and Philippe Kalfayan. Scheduled for 10 a.m. Central European Time (noon Armenia Time), the briefing will include a question-and-answer session and real-time interpretation.
IODA, an independent nonpartisan organization launched in early 2026, monitors Armenia's democratic climate and civic space. The group previously raised concerns about politicized arrests, judicial misuse, and Electoral Code amendments ahead of the June elections. Media registration is required to attend.
