Hosq Festival Brings 111 International Artists to Armenia
A brave space for creation: How Hosq is redefining creativity
The Notations Lab & Festival, organized by Hosq Initiative, gathered 111 artists from 27 countries at Armenia's State Philharmonia for a two-week creative residency. Over 80 new projects emerged, including performances, installations, and exhibitions exploring this year's central theme of rituals.
The festival built on last year's inaugural edition, which centered on composer Avet Terterian's Third Symphony—digitized for the first time through collaboration between Hosq Foundation and Armenian National Music. That first event attracted 60 artists from nine countries.
Notable projects included "Communitas," which blends folk music and rituals with contemporary technology, and "Diverse Tower," an interactive installation where audience members' biometric data influences visual and musical elements. International artists, including London-based composer Zygmund Somogyi, contributed works exploring transformation, departure, and collective ritual experiences.
