Aram Saroyan to discuss memoir at Literary Lights 2026
Literary Lights 2026 to feature Aram Saroyan
The International Armenian Literary Alliance will host poet and author Aram Saroyan on October 4, 2026, for a virtual conversation about his memoir "Before I Forget: A Memoir (and Then Some)." Saroyan, son of celebrated author William Saroyan, will discuss the book with Shahé Mankerian, the 2026-28 Altadena poet laureate and editor-in-chief.
The memoir chronicles Saroyan's life across Manhattan, Los Angeles, London, and Bolinas, exploring his family history and literary development. It includes 20 photographs and two novellas. Saroyan is known for minimalist poetry and has received the 2008 William Carlos Williams Award. The event will air at 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern / 9 p.m. Armenia time. Literary Lights 2026 is a monthly reading series organized by the International Armenian Literary Alliance, the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research, and the Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center.
