Hamazkayin Music Festival Draws 40+ Young Musicians to D.C.
Hamazkayin Armenian Music Festival brings musicians and youth together

The Hamazkayin Eastern USA Music Festival convened June 25-28 in Washington, D.C., hosting over 40 young musicians for a three-day program focused on musical excellence and Armenian cultural heritage. The festival featured masterclasses and workshops led by internationally recognized Armenian artists, including conductor Zakar Kechichian, cellist Sevak Avanesyan, and pianist Serouj Kradjian. Participants engaged in instrument-specific instruction, collaborative sessions, and Armenian dance classes conducted in an Armenian-speaking environment. The program notably included non-Armenian youth, creating opportunities for cultural exchange. The festival concluded with participant performances and a closing concert by guest artists. Organizers framed the event as an investment in the next generation of Armenian musicians and cultural ambassadors.
