Armenian Weekly Correspondent Heads to AYF Olympics
The Wednesday before the AYF Olympics

An Armenian Weekly reporter is traveling to New Jersey to cover the Armenian Youth Federation Olympics, marking the 12th year of coverage for the publication. The correspondent, who began as a reporter for the Special Issue insert, has since transitioned to daily coverage as the Weekly moved to an online-only format. The AYF Olympics, held late this September, draws young Armenian adults to compete in sporting events and celebrate community traditions. The reporter reflects on the event's significance as a multi-generational gathering where participants compete for honors including King and Queen titles and chapter bragging rights. The Armenian Weekly produces an accompanying full-color Special Issue magazine documenting the Olympics and features the Adbook with photos of AYF families and remembrances of those who have passed.
