EU to Launch New Partnership Mission in Armenia
EU Foreign Ministers set to agree on new Partnership Mission for Armenia – Kallas
The European Union is establishing a civilian advisory mission in Armenia to address hybrid security threats facing the country, according to Kaja Kallas, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia) was officially established on April 21, 2026, at the request of the Armenian government. Operating under the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy framework, the mission provides advisory support without executive authority or involvement in Armenian decision-making processes.
The mission is staffed by experts seconded from EU Member States who bring specialized security expertise and practical experience. It represents part of a broader EU strategy to strengthen Armenia's national security and resilience through combined short and longer-term assistance.
