EU, Investment Bank Sign Infrastructure Deal With Armenia
European Commission, EIB and Armenia sign joint memorandum on connectivity projects
The European Commission, European Investment Bank, and Armenia's Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support road connectivity projects under the EPIC (Eastern Partnership Investment in Connectivity) initiative.
The agreement, signed in Brussels, will provide advisory assistance for two strategic road corridors—Akhurik–Kayan and Margara–Kayan—designed to connect border crossing points with Armenia's national road network. The EIB will help define project scope and develop implementation solutions in the first phase.
The projects fall under Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and aim to strengthen Armenia's role as a regional transport and logistics hub while advancing the EU's Connectivity Agenda. Deputy Minister Kristine Ghalechyan signed on behalf of Armenia, alongside representatives from the European Commission, EIB, and EBRD.
