EU Commissioner Announces July Visit, Economic Support for Armenia

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced plans to visit Armenia on July 5 to advance cooperation between Yerevan and the European Union. Following talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Kos stated the EU intends to provide financial assistance and help facilitate trade with neighboring countries and European markets.

Kos emphasized that EU support aims to demonstrate solidarity with Armenia and strengthen its economic resilience. She noted that Russia continues to intensify pressure on Armenia, seeking to influence the country away from the democratic choices made by its citizens in recent elections. The visit and assistance package are expected to be discussed at an upcoming EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
