Community Event Addresses Domestic Violence Awareness in Boston Area
“Building a Safe Community” event to be held Oct. 8 at Belmont Public Library

A public forum on domestic violence prevention will take place October 8 at Belmont Public Library in Massachusetts, organized by the Women's Support Center – Armenia in partnership with local Armenian organizations.
The event, "Building a Safe Community: Understanding and Preventing Domestic Violence," features a panel discussion from 7 to 8:30 p.m., preceded by a reception at 6:30 p.m. Panelists include Sophie Pariseau, founder of The Sima & Dylan Pariseau Memorial Foundation; Sydney Carter, a prevention education manager; and Scott Parseghian, a school wellness director and high school football coach.
The program addresses a domestic violence tragedy that affected the Greater Boston Armenian community last year. Organizers emphasize that domestic violence crosses all demographic boundaries. Registration is required by October 4. Online participation is available via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public.
