Armenian students win four medals at International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics

Armenian high school students earned one silver and three bronze medals at the 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, held in Hanoi, Vietnam from September 25 to October 5. The competition drew 320 students from 64 countries, with Armenia represented by five students from leading educational institutions including the A. Shahinyan Specialized School of Physics and Mathematics and the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.

Ruzanna Shiroyan won silver, while Natalie Margaryan, Bagrat Bagratyan, and Emil Harutyunyan earned bronze medals. The four-stage competition included theoretical, observational, data analysis, and planetarium components. The Armenian team was led by Artashes Mkrtchyan and Artavazd Harutyunyan from Yerevan State University.
