Armenian Sports News Secures White House Credentials for UFC Event

Armenian Sports News (ASN), an independent digital outlet founded in 2021, has secured dual media credentials to cover UFC Freedom 250 at the White House on June 14. The event, part of the nation's 250th-anniversary celebrations, represents a major milestone for the platform founded by journalist Andre Khachaturian as a zero-budget Instagram page.

Khachaturian, who built relationships with UFC's PR team during his time at Boston's NESN, launched ASN to cover Armenian athletes in combat sports and soccer. Co-journalist Jason Takhtadjian joined officially in 2023 after learning about UFC fighter Brock Purdy's Armenian heritage. The outlet has grown to nearly 30,000 followers and uses sports coverage as a unifying force for the diaspora community. The team plans to target coverage of the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
