Armenian National Committees Respond to Government Criticism
Intensification of neo-Bolshevik campaign against diaspora, pan-Armenian institutions
The Armenian National Committees' network has issued a statement defending its work against what it characterizes as a campaign by Armenia's Civil Contract government to undermine diaspora institutions and pan-Armenian organizations.
The statement, published by The Armenian Weekly, argues that the government has conflated itself with the Armenian state and labeled diaspora groups as either "pro-state" or "anti-state." The committees cited government policies including restrictions on citizenship access and criticism of the Armenian Apostolic Church leadership.
The Armenian National Committees outlined their priorities: securing rights for Artsakh and its people, supporting Armenia's security, advancing international genocide recognition, and preparing youth for Armenian advocacy. The network stated it will continue its work with "determination and steadfastness" while adapting tactics as circumstances change.
