Armenian Museum hosts launch of Chris Bohjalian's novel
AMA to host “The Amateur” launch with Chris Bohjalian, Nancy Kricorian
The Armenian Museum of America will host a literary event featuring bestselling author Chris Bohjalian and acclaimed writer Nancy Kricorian on August 11, 2026, in Watertown, Massachusetts. The evening celebrates the launch of Bohjalian's 26th novel, "The Amateur," a coming-of-age narrative set in 1978 that follows a teenage golf prodigy whose life changes after a tragic accident. The novel has received widespread critical acclaim, including recognition from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and Oprah Daily. Bohjalian is a No. 1 New York Times bestselling author whose works explore themes of history, identity, and resilience. Kricorian, an acclaimed novelist and essayist, is known for examining the Armenian diaspora and intergenerational storytelling. The evening will include discussion, book signing, and reception. Admission is $35 for museum members and $50 for nonmembers, both including a signed copy of the novel.
