Armenian Honored Artist Artashes Aleksanyan dies at 64
Artashes Aleksanyan, an acclaimed Armenian actor and director, has died at age 64. Born in Yerevan in 1961, Aleksanyan passed away on July 6 following a three-day hospital stay. He was set to turn 65 on July 17.
Aleksanyan graduated from the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre studio and the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. His career spanned theater, film, and television, with appearances in Armenian and international productions including Don't Be Afraid, Poker.am, Garegin Nzhdeh, and Russian Ark. He received the title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia in recognition of his contributions to the country's performing arts.
