Armenian Foundation Develops Educational Toys for Child Development
More than toys: Inside Zarman’s educational toy lab in Armenia

The Child Development Foundation in Armenia operates Zarman, a social enterprise that designs and manufactures wooden educational toys for therapeutic and developmental purposes. Founded in 2009, the foundation employs a multidisciplinary team to create games targeting emotional intelligence, cognitive skills, and motor development.
Director Lusine Simonyan said the organization prioritizes rigorous testing and refinement of products to ensure quality. Most developmental toys available in Armenia are imported; Zarman aims to provide locally-made alternatives.
Beyond toy production, the enterprise generates social impact by involving parents in toy-making workshops, creating income opportunities while supporting the foundation's broader mission. Revenue is reinvested into regional centers and programs throughout Armenia.
